Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to congratulate capital markets associate Mayme Donohue on her appointment to the 2022-2024 class of the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Fellows Program. The ABA Business Law Section is a global network of almost 40,000 business law professionals with over 50 substantive committees covering almost every business law practice area. Through the Fellows Program, young lawyers, lawyers of color, lawyers with disabilities and LGBTQ+ lawyers are provided a springboard to substantive leadership roles within the Section through unique leadership roles, mentorships and subsidized attendance at Section meetings.
Each year, the Section appoints up to 12 diverse, outstanding lawyers to participate in two-year terms as Fellows. The Program is highly selective, requires an extensive application process, and Fellows are chosen based on demonstrated leadership experience. As a part of her selection to the Fellows Program, Mayme has also been appointed to serve on the Section’s Cyberspace Law Committee and its Business Law Today Editorial Board.
Mayme counsels clients on securities law matters, capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance issues. She is also a member of the firm’s blockchain working group and metaverse working group. She is the Associate Editor of the Blockchain Legal Resource blog. Committed to business-focused solutions, Mayme works with clients to achieve results that make both legal and financial sense. While guiding companies through strategic transactions, Mayme values the strong connections built with clients during the course of accomplishing their important business goals. Pro bono work and community service are fundamental to Mayme’s practice. She serves as the President of the Virginia Equality Bar Association and spends hundreds of hours strengthening the community through pro bono projects and on the various nonprofit boards on which she serves.
