Babson College is No. 1. Again.
For the 26th consecutive time, U.S. News & World Report has named Babson College the No. 1 undergraduate school for entrepreneurship. That ranking, and other prestigious accolades the College has received lately, reflect an institution at the top of its game, one that’s thriving after having emerged from the pandemic’s many challenges.
“Babson today stands stronger than ever,” says Stephen Spinelli Jr. MBA’92, PhD, the president of Babson. “Despite the difficulties and the sacrifices we have faced, the College’s finances are healthy and sound, and the value of a Babson degree is the greatest it has ever been. Our graduates are making an immediate impact on their communities and the world.”
The No. 1 ranking for entrepreneurship education also comes as the institution is researching and advancing the idea of entrepreneurial leadership, a potent form of leadership that emphasizes the power of relationships in order to find opportunities and solve complex problems.
“We never rest on our laurels. We are never satisfied,” Spinelli says. “We may be the longtime No. 1 school for entrepreneurship, but we are always looking for new frontiers and new opportunities to lead. We are perfectly positioned to take the lead on entrepreneurial leadership.”
In a world filled with daunting challenges, that leadership may be needed more than ever.
The No. 1 ranking from U.S. News & World Report is just the latest impressive recognition that Babson has received this year. U.S. News & World Report also has named Babson among the top 100 most selective colleges in the United States. In July, Money magazine named Babson the No. 1 college for business majors, and last month, Forbes magazine ranked Babson No. 9 on its list of the top 25 colleges for highest-earning graduates.
These accolades, together with the record number of applications and donations the College has received lately, demonstrate how strong the Babson brand and strategy are viewed by others, both inside and outside of the College community. Over the summer, the College announced that its ongoing Centennial Campaign, already the most successful fundraising campaign in its history, had surpassed the $400 million mark.
“A Babson education is in high demand, and people believe in Babson’s mission,” Spinelli says. “The world is in desperate need of the entrepreneurial leaders that the College is empowering and educating.”
From climate change to social injustice to armed conflict, the world today faces many tough, complicated challenges, and Spinelli says that entrepreneurial leaders, with their ability to harness the strength of their relationships and find opportunities in times of uncertainty, are well equipped to address them.
“This is the golden age of entrepreneurship,” Spinelli says. “It is a time made for entrepreneurial leaders, and it is the time for the No. 1 school for entrepreneurship.”
That No. 1 ranking, and the other notable recognitions that Babson has received, put the school at the forefront of providing solutions for the future. Spinelli is grateful to the many members of the Babson community whose work and dedication contribute to the institution’s success.
“I am thankful for all their efforts and for all they will do in the months and years ahead,” he says. “We have a responsibility to continue leading and moving forward. We don’t take that lightly, because we know what we do is critically important.”
