Among six Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants awarded in the tri-county area includes a half-a-million dollar grant to construct flex space in an industrial building located in New Beaver Borough’s Stonecrest Business Park.
In 2020, the Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC), in cooperation with Stonecrest Business Park (SBP), announced plans to begin to develop the former golf course into the Stonecrest Business Park. Grants were awarded to turn the 58-year-old golf course into a business park with promises of bringing 1,000 jobs, according to officials who worked to attract the enterprise to the area with the proposed $7-million business park. In February of this year, New Beaver Borough officials approved plans to keep the Stonecrest Business Park on track to begin overall construction in spring 2023.
The six grants total more than $6.79 million according to the Senator Elder Vogel (R-47) office who made the announcement last Friday.

RACP is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act. They must have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
